Let's face it, unless you pop across the Equator then winter it is a-coming! I will admit to always dreading the end of summer, and then suddenly as if by some magic I'm piping up with statements like 'Oh, I do love Autumn!' as the leaves come falling down and the sun tracks a new trajectory across the sky which brings with it a special light. I think we basically forget how lovely each season can be, until you are living it in the moment. You also appreciate every moment of sun and light as if it might be your last!
Autumn for some reason is packed full of memories for me, more so than any other time of year. One October in particular stands out and that was when we took a road trip with our one-year old and our friends' twins of the same age to Nantucket, Massachusetts. We then drove up the east coast into Maine to a very special wedding and we witnessed a New England fall in all its colourful glory. It was possibly during this trip I fell in love with the trendy North American hat wearing culture that comes in with the cooler months.
So dust off your favourite leather boots, dig out your soft scarves and find a divine 100% Australian wool felt hat (my favourite has to be the Tessa but secretly would like all of them) to adorn your head. And lastly, enjoy the season for all it brings.
